We have started our new unit I’m calling “Travel, Transportation, and Time”. In this unit we will address all the standards in force and motion and energy while relating them to our place in space (Earth and space sciences). I will be adding links here to great games and videos that are available on line. In science lab 4^th and 5^th graders are learning all about electromagnetism. 2^nd and 3^rd graders are learning about compasses and Earth’s magnetosphere. Kindergarten and 1^st graders are learning about uses of the force of magnetism and balanced forces by balancing the force of gravity and magnetism to levitate a paper clip. In our next experiments we will be learning all about Galileo and his initial pendulum experiments. When we are all done, we will coast into the Earth and Space unit and tie this all together with our mapping theme and learn how GPS works to tell us our place in space!
